N.B. THE NAMES OF SOME OF THE CHARACTERS HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO PROTECT THE GUILTY
Tony Christie
The man with the "BIG VOICE'
Tony's reputation as having one of the greatest and original voices to come out of the UK has become part of music history.Quite simply he is perfect casting for the voice of the President. As the lyric to 'I Am The President' says "A well dressed..well thought of...powerful man".
Nadine Edwards
“I was asked to record one of the main vocals on Mesrine, but who or what is Mesrine?
Steve quickly told me Mesrine’s story and we began to record the vocal on the first girlfriend song ‘Beautiful Day To Die’.
It was great for me to do something different. The standard of song writing and music being produced was outstanding. I enjoyed my time in the studio and am honored and exited to be involved in such a great production.
Thanx for all my French fun”.
Rachel Smith
"I feel very lucky to be a part of this project and I have not been able to get the songs out of my head"
Christopher Nott
“When Steve and Andy initially approached me to contribute my vocals to the Mesrine project, they played me a couple of “work in progress” ideas, with stunning vocals sung by Nadine Edwards, to say I was impressed is an understatement, the songs already sounded like classics.
I loved the whole idea for a musical based around the life and crimes of Jacques Mesrine, I told them to count me in.
I am extremely flattered to be involved with such talented performers, writers, and producers, thank you for asking me boys”
Helen Lowe
"This is is something I would pay to see in the West End and anyone who hears it would think the same, fantastic"
Steve Wilson
"Andrew and I were talking about writing a larger scale piece of music.
We had already had success with writing what you would call ' pop songs'
but needed a bigger project to stretch ourselves musically.
I said a musical would be my ideal choice...but what should the subject be?
Andrew immediately answered...Mesrine!
I thought the title was perfect, but what is Mesrine I said?
Andrew then quickly told me the story of France's
most infamous criminal Jacques Mesrine..
This conversation took place in 2007 and now here we are
today with the completed concept recording of 'MESRINE."
Brad Henshaw
Another man with a BIG voice!
Steve Wilson on Brad:
I worked on a project with Brad and got to hear his voice and thought he would be perfect for the character of the Chef of Police. I mentioned 'Mesrine' to Brad and he pointed out that he had a vast experience of the criminal world...he had acted in a number T.V cop series! Definitely the man for the job.
Lydia Borg
Andrew had heard of Lydia's reputation as a great new and up coming singer, so we asked her if she would like to sing on Mesrine
The first time she had ever been into a recording studio is captured in on the song 'Toy Guns’, its a fantastic and moving performance and adds perfectly to the musical’s finale
Sarah Leaman
Steve on Sarah:
Along with Brad Henshaw, Sarah's reputation as a uniquely talented singer
made her a perfect choice for Mesrine. Her voice has an extremely wide range and is able to perform the lyrics with great emotion.
I think her version of 'A Woman’s pain' will not be bettered by anyone.
Clare Gordon
Clare has a great voice for the role of the ‘Reporter’ her voice is pure and note perfect…and the 'petit' hint of ‘French‘she gives to the performance is wonderful
