The Composers of 'MESRINE'

Steve Wilson

Steve Wilson is not only BPI platinum awarded songwriter but has also been similarly recognized for his production work. During the last 25 years Steve has worked with many of the industry greats and has written and produced a very large and varied selection of music.

But it was his wish to paint on a larger canvas that led him to collaborate with Andrew Crawford-Bailey on Mesrine the Musical.
Steve is the Music of Mesrine and his attention to detail and ability to orchestrate vast nineteen seventies styled Parisian soundscapes is the reason that Mesrine sounds as authentic as it does.

It is as chillingly a portrait of France's public enemy number one that very few other producers and musicians could paint.

Andrew Crawford-Bailey

Andrew Crawford-Bailey has successfully made the leap from teenage post punk protégé who was  signed to Warner Brother at just 17 years of age, to seasoned songwriter and lyricist.

Andrew has written for artists and projects as diverse as Ministry of Sound and Tony Christie and is also a BPI platinum awarded songwriter having very recently contributed songs to the biggest selling album of the year.
He brings to Mesrine the songs that set out the unbelievable and fascinating story of Jacques Mesrine. Andrew makes you feel and understand the complex character of the most wanted man in France.

When these lyrics are over laid on the chilling backdrop of Steve Wilson's musical score they create a feeling of what it must have been like to have been France's most wanted man.

Steve Wilson and Andrew Crawford-Bailey first worked together in 1983 and its their enduring friendship and belief in this project that has led them to spend over two years writing, orchestrating, arranging and producing the story of Jacques Mesrine for Musical Theatre.
It is a collaboration of two individuals who know their craft and are at the height of their powers
This is a departure for both of them and a new direction… it is their bigger canvas
